How to Prepare and Deliver Lessons that "Cause Students to Learn"

Teachers are only successful when their students learn.  Just like a comedian fails when the audience does not laugh, a teacher fails when the students do not learn.  To be successful teachers, we must teach in a way that supports true learning — in a way that causes the students to learn.

Learner-Friendly Lessons is an approach to teaching that is built upon an understanding of the learning process.  It begins with a study of "learning" and it looks at eight specific things that a student must do in order to learn.  It then examines a variety of teaching techniques that we can use to evoke these eight responses.  Once we understand how students learn, we can plan and deliver lessons that promote true learning.

The Learner-Friendly Lessons approach to teaching is presented in the book "Come Teach with Me" by Eric Williams.  Training seminars on this approach are availble to faculties (or educators) who teach at any level.  To find out more, email eric@learnerfriendlylessons.com.
